Job description

Position Summary
Responsible for correctly interpreting engineering drawings to determine optimum weld and fabrication steps required to manufacture various types of shot blast equipment
Position Responsibilities
  • Weld a variety of blast cabinets and rooms to engineering specifications in an efficient manner while adhering to high quality standards.
  • Interpretation of mechanical drawings necessary to layout, measure, cut, fit and weld thin gauge materials
  • Maintain welding equipment on a daily basis.

Role Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience welding /fabricating thin gauge materials
  • High School diploma, completion of tech school program desirable
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex drawings
  • Ability to set-up weld machine parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of common welding tools and materials, MIG and TIG welding techniques, metal fabricating, grinding and finishing metals. Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys.
  • Working knowledge of fixturing and clamping techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret precision measuring instruments
  • High awareness and respect for working in a safe manner, adhering to all appropriate safety protocols
Physical Requirements
  • Work environment includes regular exposure to manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing and foot protection
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods of time
