Job description

Adecco is assisting a well-established manufacturing company in the Victor, NY area in their search for an experienced Manual Machinist. This organization has a long history of producing custom equipment and precision components for a variety of industries and is seeking a skilled machinist to join its growing operations team!

Day Shift: Monday - Friday 6am-230pm

Pay Rate: $23 - $30/hr based on experience

Summary:

The Manual Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine shop equipment, including manual lathes, saws, cutting equipment, and other shop tools. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint-reading skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment, including lathes and milling machines.

  • Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for machining operations.

  • Cut, shape, and fabricate components to precise specifications and tolerances.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.

  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

  • Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.

  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating manual lathes required.

  • Experience with manual milling machines is a plus.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.

  • Strong understanding of machining practices, measurements, and tolerances.

  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

  • Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
