Job description

General Description: Looking for a tool maker with final fit and finish experience specializes in the high-precision, hands-on assembly and refinement of tools, dies, molds, and gauges. Capable of working with manual tools to achieve micron-level perfection, ability to work directly from 2D/3D blueprints without needing step-by-step instructions. Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Drill press operations of drilling, tapping and chamfering
  • Plate de-burring and straightening (Up to 24" x 24" plates)
  • Learning machine shop operations
  • Operate manual machining centers (Bridgeport, Surface Grinder, DoAll Tool Grinder, etc.)
  • Operate machine shop hand equipment (Drills, Surface and Hand Grinders, Cut Off Saw, etc.)
  • Operate CNC Lathe / Mill
  • Operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
  • Use various measuring equipment (Micrometers, Calipers, Shadowgraph, etc.)
  • Perform and document in-process inspection
  • Assemble molds
  • Mold maintenance and repair
  • Read and understand Cad Drawings
  • Ability to work with very tight tolerances
  • Lift and carry 5-25 pounds on a regular basis
  • Work while standing for extended periods of time
  • Regular and consistent attendance
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Keep work area orderly
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Prerequisite Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years Technical College or Equivalent Experience
  • Machine shop skills or experience a plus
  • Computer literate in Master Cam, Excel and Word
  • Willing to learn new skills and attend schooling if required
  • Work as a team member and follow established procedures in a new, well equipped, fast paced tool room
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet productivity expectations and deadlines
  • Self-Motivator
  • Team Player
