ABOUT THE ROLE

The Laborer supports precast production by performing hands-on tasks involved in forming, pouring, finishing, and handling concrete products. This role works as part of a production team to prepare forms, assist in concrete placement, operate equipment, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Success in this position requires reliability, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Strip cured concrete products from forms and load for transport
  • Clean and prepare forms using hand tools and cleaning equipment
  • Set up forms including rebar placement, stressing, and imbeds installation
  • Assist with pouring, placing, raking, and shoveling concrete
  • Finish concrete using hand and power tools to required specifications
  • Perform general plant cleanup and housekeeping duties
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other production equipment
  • Support safe operation of trucks, trailers, tractors, and related equipment
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

  • Previous construction or laborer experience preferred
  • Concrete finishing experience is a plus but not required
  • Ability to read blueprints and use a tape measure preferred
  • Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to climb, lift, push, and pull equipment as needed
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts consistently
  • Strong awareness of safety practices and procedures
  • Willingness to learn production processes and equipment operation
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors year-round (depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
