Production Manager

Full Time Management Nashville, Nashville, TN, US


POSITION SUMMARY:

Direct the Production Shift and projects; communicate and manage KPI and safety metrics, financial and labor results and operational reporting that may include other departments.


MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prioritize and plan daily workflow based upon business requirements and goals set.

  • Hire and train new Production employees, ensuring the orientation and proper training of all new workers by demonstrating and explaining operating techniques to improve production and maintain workflow.

  • Inspect for quality and cleanliness, ensures those items not meeting quality standards are sent for stain treatment, discarding and others.

  • Ensure adequate performance management of all employees including affirmations, coaching, counseling, discipline, and terminations as required in a timely manner, resolve any Production personnel problems with the support of Human Resources.

  • Ensure communication and timing is coordinated between production, weighmasters, and dispatchers; communicate delays to Transportation and Service teams immediately.

  • Communicate any equipment problems to technicians in a timely manner and follow through to ensure those problems have been addressed and resolved.

  • On occasion, assists workers and performs any of the operations supervised to maintain the production goals.

  • Develop schedules and workflow to control overtime, manage labor costs and meet productivity KPIs and customer expectations with sales forecasts, plant and employee capacity and new business opportunities.

  • Preventing accidents is to be the highest priority.

  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety standards and OSHA regulations with regards to training, the wearing of PPE, etc. including verifying sufficient inventory.

  • Gain full proficiency in a specific area of discipline and broad range of activities related to the job.

  • Oversee, monitor, and coordinate production team activities, giving importance to individual member's and overall team's achievement of established goals.

  • Inform Manager of any problematic situations related to laundry operations including equipment.

  • Maintain sufficient inventory of supplies, goods and products required to complete the scheduled work assignments effectively and efficiently.

  • Maintain daily activity and productivity reports using designated systems including productivity standards and hourly reports.

  • Contribute to incident reports for any issues that affect safety, productivity or quality and submits to Manager on duty.

  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and that all safety procedures are followed.

  • Responsible for maintaining production area clean including pre- and post-shift .

  • Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (List the minimum education and/or experience necessary to fulfill this position.)
