Full-Time Pre-Admissions RN (PAT RN)

At Surgery Center at Saint Francis, we believe health and care are inseparable and are committed to delivering a high-quality, service-oriented patient experience.

Our AAAHC-accredited, physician-owned center features 4 operating rooms and 2 treatment rooms, supporting specialties including gastroenterology, general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, pain management, plastic & reconstructive surgery, podiatry, and urology.

Position Overview

As a Pre-Admissions RN (PAT RN), you will play a vital role in preparing patients for surgery by ensuring all pre-operative requirements are met. This role is essential in supporting patient safety, optimizing surgical outcomes, and delivering a seamless patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and screenings
  • Review patient medical histories and verify all necessary documentation and clearances
  • Educate patients and their families on pre- and post-operative care expectations
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure readiness for procedures
  • Identify potential risks and escalate concerns appropriately to the care team
  • Ensure compliance with clinical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current, active RN license in the state
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS as required by the facility
  • Prior experience in pre-admissions, pre-op, PACU, or surgical setting preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
