Pre-Analytical Services Assistant

We are seeking a Pre-Analytical Services Assistant to join IQVIA Laboratories at Valencia, CA. Job Summary:

The Pre-Analytical Services Assistant supports the routine receipt and processing of clinical specimens in a laboratory environment. This role helps ensure shipments, specimen materials, and related documentation are handled accurately, safely, and in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Receive consignments and shipments and support routine specimen intake activities
  • Open shipments, review patient information forms, and escalate missing, incorrect, or damaged materials to senior staff
  • Dispose of or recycle kit shipping supplies according to established procedures
  • Conduct secondary checks of shipping materials to ensure no specimens remain in packaging
  • Support after-hour alarms and other job-critical functions as needed
  • Assist with equipment upkeep, supply inventory tasks, workstation cleanup, and general administrative duties
  • Organize the work area as requested by management and support safe, compliant daily operations
What We Are Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow
  • Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:
  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing shipment contents, specimen packaging, and patient information forms
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients
  • Ability to stay organized, follow safety procedures, and support workflow in a fast-paced laboratory setting
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education through self-study and team meetings

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $24,400.00 - $50,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
