The Department of Counselor Education invites applications for a tenure-track, open-rank Core Faculty position. The successful candidate will contribute to a CACREP-aligned program through excellence in teaching, clinical supervision, research and scholarship, student advisement, and service. This faculty member will also serve as a Field Clinical Supervisor and play an active role in program assessment, evaluation, and accreditation activities. The position supports the preparation of culturally responsive professional counselors for work in diverse clinical and educational settings.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching
Teach three (3) graduate courses per semester in the Counselor Education program
Deliver instruction in core and specialty area courses (CMHC and/or School Counseling)
Use developmentally and culturally responsive pedagogical practices
Integrate ethical, multicultural, and evidence-based practices into teaching
Clinical Supervision & Field Placement
Serve as Field Clinical Supervisor
Provide individual and/or group supervision for practicum and internship students
Collaborate with site supervisors to support student development
Conduct site visits as required
Evaluate student clinical performance in alignment with CACREP standards
Student Advisement & Mentorship
Advise and mentor graduate students
Monitor student progress and professional dispositions
Support students' professional identity development and career readiness
Research and Scholarship
Maintain an active and sustainable research agenda
Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at professional conferences
Engage in scholarly activities consistent with rank and tenure expectations
Pursue external funding and collaborative research opportunities
Service
Participate in departmental, college, and university service
Engage in professional service at the local, state, and national levels
Contribute to community partnerships and program outreach
Program Assessment & Accreditation
Participate in systematic program evaluation and data-driven decision-making
Contribute to annual reporting, KPI development, and continuous improvement processes
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of CACREP accreditation materials
Support curriculum development and program revision based on assessment data

Minimum Qualifications

Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program
Demonstrated identity as a professional counselor and counselor educator.
Eligible for or holds appropriate professional counseling licensure/credentials.
Demonstrated competence in graduate-level teaching, clinical supervision, and student mentoring.
Knowledge of CACREP standards, accreditation, assessment, and program evaluation.
Evidence of or potential for scholarship, research, and professional service appropriate to rank.
Ability to support clinical training, student assessment, and professional dispositions.
Commitment to collaborative faculty governance and continuous program improvement.
