Job description

We are a fast-paced business with ambitious growth plans; so if you are dedicated, enthusiastic and always seeking ways to improve, you'll enjoy a career with us!

At Ontic, we're giving established aircraft a new lease on life.

We're a leading global aerospace OEM, providing complex engineered parts and repair services for established aircraft across the defense and commercial markets. With more than 45 years of manufacturing and aftermarket support experience, our teams help keep critical aircraft flying safely around the world.

We're looking for a Supplier Performance Manager to lead supplier performance for one of our manufacturing sites and turn complex supply chain challenges into measurable results.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role. You'll lead a team of Supplier Performance Specialists, tackle critical supplier constraints, accelerate recovery plans and ensure the materials our operations need arrive on time, at the right quality and with the reliability our customers depend on.

If you enjoy solving tough supplier problems, leading teams and seeing the direct impact of your work on manufacturing performance, this could be the opportunity for you.

At Ontic, we embrace the challenge.

What You'll Do

As Supplier Performance Manager, you'll connect site production priorities with Ontic's broader supply chain strategy. You'll work closely with Operations, Materials, Quality, Procurement and our supplier partners to protect production and improve long-term supplier performance.

You'll:

  • Lead, coach and develop Supplier Performance Specialists, creating clear priorities and a strong culture of accountability.
  • Translate production schedules, shortages and operational risks into focused supplier actions and recovery plans.
  • Lead supplier recovery activity for past-due orders, material shortages, production disruptions and line-down risks.
  • Prioritize supplier intervention based on business impact, including customer commitments, production continuity and revenue exposure.
  • Own and improve key supplier performance metrics, including:
  • On-Time Delivery (OTD)
  • Past-due and delinquency reduction
  • Supplier lead-time adherence
  • Supplier quality performance and PPM
  • Supplier escapes affecting site operations
  • Establish clear actions, owners, milestones and recovery dates with underperforming suppliers.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical supplier issues affecting site output.
  • Identify and mitigate emerging risks including capacity constraints, single- and sole-source dependencies, long-lead materials and constrained components.
  • Coordinate cross-site activity where suppliers support multiple Ontic locations.
  • Provide clear, data-driven supplier performance updates to site leadership and global supply chain leaders.
  • Use Lean, Six Sigma, 8D and Root Cause Corrective Action methodologies to eliminate recurring issues and improve supplier capability.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned across Ontic to strengthen supplier performance maturity.
What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means suppliers recover faster, shortages and past-dues decrease, OTD improves and production teams have greater confidence in supply.

You'll build a team that focuses on the supplier issues that matter most, identifies risks earlier and drives clear action when performance threatens production or customer commitments.

This isn't a role that reports on supplier performance from the sidelines. You'll be responsible for changing it.

What You'll BringExperience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in supply chain, supplier management, procurement, manufacturing operations or a related discipline.
  • Experience within Aerospace & Defense, aviation or another highly regulated manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, ideally within a manufacturing, plant or site-led environment.
Technical Expertise

You'll bring strong experience in areas such as:

  • Supplier performance management and recovery
  • Production-driven supply chain environments
  • Material shortage and constraint management
  • Supplier capacity and risk management
  • MRP/ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
  • Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • 8D problem solving
  • Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Performance analysis and continuous improvement

Most importantly, you understand how supplier performance translates directly into shop-floor execution, customer delivery and business performance.

How You Lead

You'll be comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can change quickly and strong judgment matters.

You'll be someone who can:

  • Make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Turn complex information into clear actions and priorities.
  • Hold suppliers accountable while building productive long-term relationships.
  • Communicate confidently from the shop floor to the executive level.
  • Balance immediate production requirements with sustainable supplier improvement.
  • Develop strong, accountable teams.
  • Influence across functions, sites and suppliers.
  • Bring structure and operational discipline to challenging situations.
