Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)/Infection Preventionist (IP)

Location: Green ValleyRehabilitation Center - Eugene, OR

Schedule:Full-time, Monday-Friday (Weekend call rotation required)

Pay:

  • Registered Nurse (RN): Starting at $112,230+/year (DOE)

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Starting at $84,000+/year (DOE)

About Us
At Green Valley Rehabilitation Center, we are dedicated to providing exceptional skilled nursing and rehabilitation services in a compassionate, resident-centered environment. We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable healthcare professional to join our leadership team as a Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) / Infection Preventionist (IP). This dual-role position plays a critical part in ensuring our staff are highly trained and our residents are cared for in a safe, infection-free environment.

Responsibilities

Staff Development Coordinator (SDC):

  • Collaborate with the Administrator, Director of Nursing Services, and staff to assess training needs and implement programs that meet regulatory requirements

  • Develop and update staff development policies, including certification, training completion, and compliance guidelines

  • Ensure all nursing assistants complete state-required certification programs

  • Oversee orientation, in-service education, continuing education, and CNA certification training programs

  • Maintain accurate lesson plans, training records, and schedules for students and instructors

  • Implement and evaluate new employee orientation programs, including skills assessments and competency checklists

  • Verify CNA certifications with state registries and ensure ongoing training compliance

  • Provide skill training for new staff and address competency gaps as needed

Infection Preventionist (IP):

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the facility's infection prevention and control program

  • Collect, analyze, and maintain data on infections and antibiotic use; monitor for trends and resistance

  • Investigate infection outbreaks and incidents, reporting findings as required

  • Collaborate with federal, state, and local health departments on communicable disease reporting

  • Direct infection risk assessments, annual prevention plans, and compliance audits

  • Provide education and training on infection prevention practices to clinical teams and facility staff

  • Serve as a resource for infection prevention, ensuring best practices in resident care

Qualifications

  • Required: Active LPN licensure in good standing in Oregon

  • Preferred: Active RN licensure in good standing in Oregon

  • Current certification in Infection Control

  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

  • Experience in staff education/training and infection prevention highly desired
