Responsibilities
  • Assists in the diagnoses and therapeutic management of children referred for developmental delays/disorders and/or behavior concerns, under the supervision of a physician
  • Performs medical and developmental screenings and evaluation of Infants and toddlers
  • Obtains thorough histories and physicals on pediatrics patients
  • Assists in determining needed evaluations for new patients
  • Provides information and support to families regarding the diagnostic process and guidance and Implications regarding diagnosis
  • Initiates referrals to other physicians and agencies
  • Responsible for prescribing and monitoring medications
  • Orders appropriate laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies
  • Updates and maintains electronic health records
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned
Additional Information

Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program Required OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited institution and completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner training program Required
  • PA - Physician Assistant - Licensure with the state of Alabama to practice as a Physician Assistant within 60 Days Required or
  • CRNP - Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and licensure with the state of Alabama as a nurse practitioner and registered nurse. Upon Hire Required
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
