This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other activities as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate. As part of that patient care, this position is accountable to: deliver optimal patient care through effective clinical practice; education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others; consultation with other healthcare providers; and maintain current knowledge regarding options for optimal patient care and outcomes.

About this role:

Opportunity for a PRN Pediatric Psychiatry Advance Practice Provider to help our team of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals committed to providing quality pediatric behavioral healthcare. This APP will help cover vacations, leave of absence, and time off in any of our three campuses located in Taylorsville, Ogden and Centerville.

2+ year APP experience in a pediatric behavioral health setting

Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's best children's hospitals in 11 of 11 pediatric specialties, including behavioral health.

What you'll bring:

  • For Nurse Practitioners:
    • PMHNP-BC certification required
    • MSN or DNP with a Post graduate certificate in psychiatry/mental health (if primary specialty other is not psychiatry)
  • For Physician Assistants:
    • Obtain and maintain a Certification of Added Qualification in Psychiatry issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
    • Complete
      • An accredited doctorate level academic program for physician assistants approved by the division in collaboration with the board
      • A post-graduate certificate program for physician assistants to practice within psychiatric and mental health care that is approved by the division in collaboration with the board; or
      • A post-graduate residency in psychiatry and additional clinical practice or coursework in accordance with requirements approved by the division in collaboration with the board; and
      • A minimum of 10,000 hours of clinical practice in mental health
  • Additional Requirement:
    • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license (or the ability to obtain)
    • BLS certification and DEAregistration
    • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process
    • Visa sponsorship considered on a case-by-case basis
