Job description

The Senior Director of Sales & Marketing provides strategic leadership and oversight for all sales, marketing, communications, and special events functions at OWA Parks & Resort. This role is responsible for driving attendance, revenue, and brand growth across the resort, its owned companies, and tenant businesses through integrated strategies, strong leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

Serving as a senior advisor to property leadership, the Senior Director aligns departmental strategy with business objectives, oversees key budgets, and ensures that sales, marketing, and events efforts operate cohesively to support OWA’s position as a premier regional destination.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
  • Set the overall sales, marketing, and special events strategy for OWA Parks & Resort, aligning departmental goals with property-wide business objectives
  • Provide leadership and oversight to direct reports, including the marketing, sales, and special events teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance
  • Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing, sales, public relations, and special events initiatives that drive attendance, awareness, and revenue
  • Collaborate closely with the OWA Property Manager and executive leadership to support long-term planning, business development, and brand positioning initiatives
  • Ensure consistent communication and alignment among marketing, sales, operations, and guest experience teams
  • Maintain and enforce OWA’s brand standards and creative direction across all marketing channels
  • Coordinate and oversee relationships with creative agencies, contract vendors, and outside consultants supporting OWA’s in-house marketing and design teams
  • Strengthen relationships with internal business units, tenant partners, community leaders, tourism organizations, and regional stakeholders
  • Oversee annual sales and marketing budget planning and execution, ensuring effective allocation of resources and strong return on investment
  • Monitor performance metrics, sales results, campaign effectiveness, and event outcomes, using data to inform strategy adjustments
  • Identify opportunities for positive earned coverage highlighting OWA’s entertainment, cultural, and community impact
  • Provide strategic guidance to OWA owned businesses and tenants on public messaging, communications, and reputation management
  • Supports executive leadership with crisis communication response efforts as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of progressive leadership experience, with at least seven (7) years in a senior-level role overseeing sales and marketing within a hospitality, entertainment, or tourism business
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management systems, and marketing software platforms is required
  • Strong executive leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience coordinating relationships with creative agencies, marketing vendors, and public relations firms, including contract oversight and project management
  • Proven experience managing large budgets and complex, multi-channel initiatives
  • Excellent communication, strategic planning, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support major events, launches, or business needs
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Some overnight travel required
