MassMedia Marketing, Advertising, PR is a fast-growing advertising and public relations agency headquartered in Las Vegas, NV, with offices in Phoenix and Orange County. We are a results-driven, award-winning firm with deep expertise in the hospitality, consumer services, and healthcare sectors. We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the agency’s day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activity, payables, receivables support, payroll, reconciliations and month-end close. You’ll work closely with the Controller and Finance Coordinator to keep financial information accurate, meet reporting deadlines and provide timely support to clients, vendors and employees. We’re looking for someone who brings strong accounting judgment, a proactive mindset and a genuine interest in finding better ways to work - including exploring new tools to improve accounting processes, reporting and efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable and detail-oriented, but also collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working in the fast-paced environment of an advertising agency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations across the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, employee expenses and month-end close
  • Prepare and review journal entries, maintain the chart of accounts, reconcile key balance-sheet accounts, and manage prepaid, fixed-asset and accrual schedules
  • Support the Controller with month-end close, financial statement preparation, and tax documentation requests
  • Oversee vendor and media invoice processing, coding, approval workflows, payment batches, vendor records and vendor inquiries
  • Serve as the accounting contact for client accounting departments, coordinating approvals, feedback and ongoing communication
  • Review and send client invoices, provide backup billing support, monitor accounts receivable aging, follow up on outstanding balances, record cash receipts and identify collection or billing risks
  • Provide guidance and review for accounting support staff and assist the department in meeting deadlines and changing business needs
  • Manage payroll for the agency
  • Improve accounting workflows, documentation, internal controls, accuracy, communication and turnaround time

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment; agency experience is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and month-end close
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel; experience with Expensify and Gusto are preferred
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools to streamline and improve accounting or finance workflows is preferred
  • Ability to work onsite five days per week
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors and internal teams
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive financial and employee information with a high level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with the judgment and initiative to take ownership of accounting processe
