This position can be based in Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Indianapolis, IN; Los Angeles, CA; Louisville, KY; Nashville, TN; New York, NY; Pittsburgh, PA; or Washington, DC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the development of visual and written content by collaborating with the CBDO, the creative team, the communications team, and external vendors to drive and support campaigns and collateral needs.

- Maintain high level oversight of internal and external communications, including web and social media content, firm announcements, intranet content, crisis communications, and executive messaging.
- Oversee the planning, communication, and execution of large-scale internal and external events, including firmwide partner meetings, leadership symposiums, FBT Gibbons Connect series client events, etc.
- Collaborate with the business development team, the proposal team, and attorneys as needed to support unique client engagement efforts through tailored messaging or collateral materials.
- Advise senior leadership and attorneys on best practices for communications, media relations, and message positioning, including crisis communications, and act as the primary liaison between the firm and external partners, including media outlets, advertising agencies, and community organizations.
- Manage the marketing communications budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize impact.
- Oversee dynamic, impactful, and innovative advertising and community outreach campaigns and initiatives that enhance the firm’s profile in various industries, practices, and markets.
- Ensure all communications comply with legal industry standards, ethics rules, and confidentiality and privacy requirements.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all communications activities, regularly analyze performance data, and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize impact and maximize ROI.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, professional associations, and networking events to build the firm’s external profile and stay current with industry trends as appropriate/useful.
- Maintain strong relationships with media representatives and external agencies as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture by motivating employees, promoting teamwork, and maintaining high levels of engagement and job satisfaction.
- Provide continuous coaching and mentorship to direct reports, offering constructive feedback to support professional growth and skill development.
- Ensure adherence to firm policies and legal regulations while managing employee conduct and performance.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or relevant field required.
- Minimum of ten years of progressive marketing or business development experience required, along with prior experience in a law firm environment.
- Experience leading creative and design projects, developing portfolios, and building communications campaigns required.

- Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to handle stressful situations diplomatically and interact effectively with diverse personalities at all firm levels.
- Adaptable and quick to grasp and apply new ideas in a changing work environment.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite, CRM systems, and video and graphics applications.
