Casper is looking for a PR & Communications Manager to lead external communications and media relations, building brand awareness, protecting brand reputation, and supporting key business priorities. This role is responsible for developing press strategies, managing media outreach, crafting messaging, and executing proactive and reactive PR initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, strategic thinker, and relationship builder who can translate business objectives into compelling narratives.

This is a hybrid role, requiring that you work 4 days per week from our Richmond, VA office.

When youĘĽre not catching zzzĘĽs, this is what youĘĽll do...

  • Work cross-functionally to bring company initiatives to life by drafting, editing and pitching press material, including press releases, interview backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, and more
  • Identify and action on emerging PR opportunities, including areas such as executive thought leadership, product placement, and influencers, to generate positive coverage of the Casper brand, products, and team
  • Collaborate with CX, social, and retail teams to craft customer communications; handle community management and engage with customers across social media channels such as Reddit, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and others
  • Fully manage speaking engagements for executives, from securing talks to handling media training
  • Oversee continued development of a comprehensive PR library and database of resources (press page, fact sheets, etc.)
  • Manage day-to-day press inquiries and product requests; oversee product orders and manage PR budget on behalf of the team
  • Manage all company, executive, and product award applications
  • Manage crisis communications if/and when necessary
  • Measure the impact of press and customer engagements and communicate effectively with the broader team and management

Our dream candidate is/has...

  • 5+ years of relevant PR/Communications experience, mix of agency and in-house experience preferred (experience managing agencies a plus)
  • Excellent writing skills, ability to write and edit communications materials for a wide range of audiences
  • Experience using Meltwater AI and Project Management Systems (Asana preferred)
  • Proactive approach to work, you like to solve problems and don’t wait for someone to give you the answer
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented! Can manage multiple things at once and are structured about your work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Public company experience preferred
  • Experience in a “build”, high growth/great change environment; fast-paced; shifting priorities; hands-on keyboard
  • Customer-focused and customer service mindset
  • Experience managing CSR programs and business press
  • Professional, warm, thoughtful, engaging
  • Strong content design/organization, project management & planning - decks, scripts, outlines, and the like
  • Demonstrated skill at tailoring content for unique audiences
  • A collaborative nature, aptitude for bringing people together, a strong work ethic
  • High energy, positive and optimistic; by nature, a “why don’t we….” person
  • Strong eye for detail and quality control
  • Great listener
  • Must be able and willing to travel regularly as part of the role
