Job description

Public Relations Senior Account Executive – Polskin Arts PR
LOCATION: The continued growth of Polskin Arts has resulted in an available PR Senior Account Executive position based in the New York global HQ of FINN Partners.  This is a full-time, direct-hire role with a hybrid weekly schedule working 3 days in the office (T/W/TH) and 2 days remotely (M/F).  The option to work 5 days a week in office is also available.
Our values-driven PR agency culture champions integrity, collaboration, innovation, and inclusion.  We are looking for a bright, outgoing, detail focused, organized person who has a passion for the arts and impeccable interpersonal and communication skills.  We seek applicants for our PR SAE role who will utilize their prior years of PR work history with clients from the arts or culture organizations, to thrive in our fast paced, dynamic, growth-oriented public relations agency work environment.  This individual will be assigned to concurrent client accounts and take work direction from multiple leaders within our department. 
The PR SAE will have outstanding media relations and pitching skills, and excellent public relations client account management experience focused upon clients in the culture and arts sector.  Qualified applicants will have 3-5 years of prior public relations experience (preferably in-house or at a PR agency working in the fields of the arts, gallery, museum, architecture, or design).  It is expected that an applicant will have prior work experience implementing and utilizing public relations best practices in client account management and in media relations, and in mentoring junior staff.  Experience effectively utilizing social media channels, technology, and PR tools such as Muck Rack, Cision, Campaign Monitor, and with MS Office Suite, and the ability to work-travel nationally and internationally are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution of creative, strategic client public relations programs and campaigns.  Ensure proper preparation is conducted for client meeting agendas and media updates for weekly client account calls. 
  • Be a leading point of contact for clients and media.  Actively pitch media.  Receive and appropriately manage time-sensitive media inquiries and arrangements for interviews with spokespeople.
  • Develop, compile, and update communications materials including: client facing documents, strategies, pitches, media lists, press releases, key messages, media briefing books, blog posts, and media coverage reports. 
  • Review and edit the PR collateral written by junior level public relations staff on the team.
  • Develop, review and deliver project trackers, call agendas, action items/recaps, weekly, biweekly, and monthly verbal and other written client reporting.
  • Implement core PR campaigns - planning, media strategy/pitching, event management, social media and other content writing/editing, research, and account administration.
  • Execute strong media relations campaigns, expert positioning, and reactive media relations.  Work in partnership with the client team to secure media placements by proactively researching and pitching compelling story angles.  Actively build and maintain strong relationships with the media across sectors, tracking journalist moves; source and engage with new media contacts.
  • Special event planning for press briefings and press trips.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (communications, journalism, or art history preferred). 
  • 3-5 years of prior public relations experience (preferably in-house or at a PR agency working in the fields of the arts, gallery, museum, architecture, or design.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and proof-reading skills; exceptional attention to detail, and high proficiency in verbal and written communication.
  • .Strong skills in research, multi-tasking, working independently, and in identifying and executing work priorities.
  • Is a collaborative team-player who demonstrates kindness and professionalism, and is detailed, deadline oriented, and able to successfully work in a fast-paced growing environment that requires concurrent management of multiple PR projects.
  • Experience as the PR account point of contact for assigned client accounts; excels in client-facing PR roles.
  • Expertise in working with traditional and social media strategies, campaigns, tools, and channels.  Outstanding story-telling experience and media relations work history drafting compelling messages and landing impactful media pitches for PR clients that illuminate their programs or brands. 
  • Passion for and knowledge of arts publications.
  • Knowledge of Box is a plus.  Is a proficient user of Microsoft Office products (including Excel and Outlook), and of Muck Rack, Campaign Monitor, and related software.

Salary range is $72,300-$76,000.  The salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and dependent upon the workplace.
