Job description

Job Description: Powertrain CAD Engineer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Powertrain CAD Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in powertrain systems and components, with specialized expertise in CAD modeling, particularly for castings and complex assemblies. This role focuses on creating, cleaning, and preparing high-quality CAD geometry for simulation and analysis, supporting the development of next-generation powertrain technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, modify, and clean up complex 3D CAD models of powertrain components and assemblies, with a focus on cast parts.
  • Prepare and optimize CAD geometry for simulation and analysis workflows.
  • Utilize CAD software for defeaturing, simplification, and surface repair to ensure model readiness for computational analysis.
  • Collaborate with simulation and design engineers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality geometry.
  • Support powertrain development projects from concept through to validation.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in 3D CAD modeling within the automotive powertrain domain.
  • Strong understanding of powertrain systems and components, especially castings.
  • Proficiency in a major CAD package (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
  • Experience with CAD cleanup, simplification, and preparation for CAE analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Siemens StarCCM+ for CAD cleanup and meshing.
  • Familiarity with simulation processes and requirements for fluid dynamics or structural analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
