Job description

***Hybrid, 3 days onsite, 2 days remote***

A financial firm is looking for a End User Computing Consultant. This consultant will focus on VMware Appstacks, Windows, PowerShell, desktop engineering, VDI, Vmware UEM/DEM, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Package and deploy applications for the end user environment using VMware AppStacks.
  • Manage and preserve end user profile settings using VMware UEM/DEM.
  • Troubleshoot application installation, performance, and runtime issues across desktop and mobile environments.
  • Maintain OS base builds including feature updates, software patches, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Lead and support meetings with Business, IT, and Security stakeholders to define requirements and communicate environment changes.
  • Identify and drive innovation in the end user experience; challenge legacy processes with data-driven proposals.
  • Apply expert-level knowledge of EUC concepts, processes, and procedures to complex technical assignments.
  • Design and implement automation solutions within the end user experience space.
  • Design, develop, debug, and implement software in support of end user engineering objectives.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to desktop and mobile software applications.
  • Resolve systems integration, compatibility, and multi-platform challenges.
  • Evaluate and recommend application software packages, integration approaches, and testing tools.
  • Provide tactical and strategic input on the overall End User experience roadmap.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation per assigned schedule.
  • Document changes, policies, procedures, and architecture diagrams.
  • Provide cross-training and mentoring to team members.
  • Project manage and lead multiple concurrent projects across varying sizes and timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly related field, or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience supporting Windows desktop OS environments (Windows 10/11 in an enterprise domain).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience deploying applications across enterprise desktops using modern tools.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience writing and maintaining scripts in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or VBScript.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience packaging software for enterprise deployment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Windows profile management.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining a VDI environment using VMware Horizon.
  • Minimum 1 year in a desktop engineering or dedicated end user experience engineering role.
  • VMware Certified Professional Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM) and Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator (MD-102) preferred.
  • Experience leading or managing at least one cross-functional project from initiation through delivery.
  • Available for on-call rotation per team schedule.
  • Familiarity with ITIL service management practices preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to package applications using VMware AppStacks for VDI environments.
  • Ability to configure and manage VMware UEM/DEM for end user profile and environment settings.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve desktop and mobile application issues in a production enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience maintaining OS base builds including security patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Ability to design, write, and deploy automated workflows or scripts that measurably reduce manual effort.
