Powershell Python information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a PowerShell/Python Developer, and why are they important?

To excel as a PowerShell/Python Developer, you need strong programming skills in both languages, knowledge of automation and scripting, and often a background in computer science or IT. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, experience with DevOps tools, and relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or Python Institute PCEP are commonly required. Problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication are standout soft skills for this role. These competencies are essential for developing reliable scripts and automation solutions that optimize processes and support business goals.

How do professionals in a Powershell Python role typically collaborate with other IT team members?

In a Powershell Python role, collaboration is a key aspect of daily work. Professionals often work closely with system administrators, network engineers, and DevOps teams to automate workflows, manage infrastructure, and troubleshoot issues. Regular communication through meetings, shared documentation, and version control platforms like Git is essential to ensure scripts and automation processes align with broader organizational goals. Additionally, they may provide guidance to less technical team members on how to use or modify scripts for specific tasks, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

What do Powershell Python professionals do?

Professionals skilled in both PowerShell and Python are typically involved in automating IT tasks, managing systems, and scripting solutions for various environments. They use PowerShell, mainly on Windows platforms, for automating administrative tasks, while Python is used for more extensive scripting, data processing, and cross-platform automation. These professionals often bridge the gap between different systems, enabling seamless integration and workflow automation.

Radiology Associates is the leading provider of patient care and medical imaging in Eastern Central Florida. We offer high-quality imaging services using state-of-the-art technology in a comfortable, caring, and professional environment. Our team members are integral to creating an exceptional patient experience and fostering a positive and purposeful work atmosphere.

We are proud to be recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.

Why Join Us

When you become part of Radiology Associates, you join an elite team dedicated to providing the best patient care. We prioritize employee recognition, growth, and diversity and are looking for motivated individuals who want to grow with us.

JOB SUMMARY: The Azure Cloud Engineer is responsible for the operational ownership, reliability, security, and continuous improvement of Radiology Imaging Associates’ (RIA) Azure-hosted data lakehouse and analytics stack (including Azure Databricks and downstream reporting/BI tools). This role owns ongoing lakehouse upkeep—environment administration, pipeline operations, monitoring, and new data ingestion—while also partnering across IT to deliver broader Azure cloud initiatives beyond the lakehouse (platform governance, automation, security improvements, and new cloud services). The role works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the platform remains stable, cost-effective, compliant (HIPAA), and scalable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Platform operations, reliability & cloud delivery: Own day-to-day operations of the Azure Lakehouse/Databricks platform and contribute to broader Azure cloud initiatives; monitor health, performance, security posture, and cost; manage incidents and coordinate resolution with internal IT teams.

  • Azure & Databricks administration: Administer Azure Databricks workspaces (clusters/SQL warehouses, libraries, job scheduling, workspace permissions) and supporting Azure services (networking, Key Vault/secret management, storage) as applicable to the environment.
  • Data pipelines & orchestration: Support ingestion and transformation jobs (batch/stream) across Bronze/Silver/Gold layers; manage job schedules, retries, SLAs, and exception alerting; perform root-cause analysis for failed loads.
  • Data quality, lineage, and governance (partnership): Partner with the BI team on data quality monitoring and reconciliation; support root-cause analysis by tracing issues through ingestion, storage, and compute; maintain lineage/metadata documentation and help ensure governance controls and access policies are implemented consistently.
  • Security, privacy, and HIPAA: Implement and maintain role-based access controls (least privilege), audit logging, and PHI/PII handling controls (including de-identification where required); assist with security reviews and evidence collection.
  • Release & change management: Coordinate change requests, regression testing, and deployments for pipelines, notebooks, and semantic layers; maintain runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • BI/reporting support: Support connectivity and performance for analytics consumption tools (e.g., Power BI); troubleshoot refresh failures, dataset issues, and user access problems.
  • Backup, recovery, and continuity: Participate in backup/restore planning, disaster recovery procedures, and periodic testing aligned to organizational requirements.
  • Azure cloud initiatives beyond the lakehouse: Deliver and support ongoing Azure improvements such as landing-zone/guardrails alignment, networking and private connectivity updates, identity and access enhancements, monitoring/alerting expansion, cost optimization, and enablement of additional Azure services used by the organization.
  • Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and maintain repeatable deployments and configuration using tools such as Terraform and/or Bicep; automate operational tasks (e.g., environment provisioning, monitoring, access reviews) using scripting (PowerShell/Python) where appropriate.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Direct experience with Azure Databricks administration, including cluster policies, job orchestration, and Databricks SQL.
  • Experience with Delta Lake/lakehouse patterns and Bronze/Silver/Gold architectures.
  • Experience supporting Power BI (gateways, datasets, refresh troubleshooting, performance tuning) and/or semantic modeling.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data environments and HIPAA-related administrative safeguards.
  • Experience implementing monitoring/alerting (e.g., Azure Monitor/Log Analytics) and cost governance practices.
  • Scripting/automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and Infrastructure-as-Code exposure (Terraform/Bicep) are a plus.

REQUIREMENTS: Must possess and maintain a valid Florida class E driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.

ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers and vendors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
  • Ability to have strong verbal and written interpersonal communication.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

This description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements. Responsibilities, knowledge, skills, abilities and working conditions may change as the need evolves.
