Job Description One Tech Engineering is searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer for a position located in St. Louis, Missouri. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead electrical design project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities.
The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a directly related field, plus 7 years of experience in electrical systems studies in the electric utility or industrial power distribution industry. Local candidates preferred or open to relocation.
This is not a remote position. Senior Electrical Engineer Responsibilities: Executes complex assignments requiring the use of advanced electrical engineering techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment, and/or technological methods. Coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports, or project design assignments.
Responsible for performing power system studies and system protection settings coordination on various projects (Up to 500-kV voltage level). Develop design basis documentation for protective settings and generate native relay configuration files. Conduct design reviews and support quality control.
Assist the project manager in developing the scope of work and conceptual design for the projects. Train, guide, and mentor less experienced team members. Support business development and marketing initiatives.
Requirements of the Senior Electrical Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a directly related field, plus 7 years of experience in electrical systems studies in the electric utility or industrial power distribution industry. Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer licensure. Previous experience in the development of protective relay settings in the Transmission or Distribution industry.
Prior experience in commonly utilized system modelling software programs (ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, SKM, etc.) Knowledge of protection schemes and philosophies commonly applied at Transmission and Distribution substations. Previous experience developing native relay setting files using SEL's AcSELerator and GE's Enervista software programs Ability to read and interpret electrical single lines, three lines, schematics, functional diagrams, etc. Prior experience designing calculations, including short circuit calculation, current transformer performance and ratio selection, over-current element coordination, zone-distance element selection and coordination, and relay loadability calculation
Ability to perform Grounding, Arc Flash, and other Power system studies is a plus.
