The Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the power press to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal by performing the following job tasks. MULTIPLE SHIFTS AVAILABLE!
To help us drive excellence, you will get to:
• Day to day operation of Tandem Presses / Press Lines.
• Ensure material, blanks, are loaded & prepared to run.
• Performs quality checks between Quality Inspector checks, monitors lubrication, scrap, nitro & sight gages.
• Responsible for minor repairs (e.g., cup replacements)
• Observes press operations to detect misalignment or malfunction.
• Preps line for changeover by assisting Tool & Die in staging tooling, hanging set-up cards, and ensuring materials and racks are ready and available for next job.
• Completes hit-to-hit checklist boards & AOS boards.
• General cleaning (general housekeeping, 5S, etc.)
• Fills out production logs, tags, production reports as required
• Notifies the appropriate Trades Supervisor or Tradesman of required assistance.
• Participate in continuous improvement meetings and activities.
This is a full-time role, will be part of our team and reports to the Production Supervisor.
Required experience:
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as required.
• Ability to work with a computer and Microsoft Office
• Ability to perform basic fault recovery.
• Lock Out / Tag Out training required.
