Summary

The Mechanical Power Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining mechanical power-press equipment used to fabricate highly cosmetic stainless steel components. This role requires precision handling, strict adherence to quality standards, and consistent compliance with safety protocols in a production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operate the mechanical power press in accordance with all safety rules and regulations, ensuring customer quality expectations are met and efficiency standards are achieved.
  • Produce stainless steel and cold rolled metal components to tight tolerances with high cosmetic quality (scratch-free, blemish-free surfaces).
  • Inspect parts visually and with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance.
  • Identify and report defects, tooling issues, or process deviations.
  • Follow standardized work instructions, safety procedures, and production schedules.
  • Maintain clean work areas to prevent contamination or damage to cosmetic surfaces.
  • Handle materials carefully to avoid dents, scratches, or other surface imperfections.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Prior manufacturing industry machine operation experience and mechanical power press operation are a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience operating mechanical power presses or similar industrial machinery strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with stainless steel handling and cosmetic part standards is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Understanding of workplace safety standards (OSHA familiarity preferred).
