Assistant Press Operator - Mebane, NC
Nightshift 7PM-7AM
Payrate - Depending on experience

The Opportunity:
  • Review job ticket with 1st Press Person to determine, size, quantity of sheets required and colors.
  • With assistance from 1st Press Person ensures that the ink supplied matches the ink specs on job ticket.
  • Adjust printing units for proper sheet size.
  • Mounts plates in press, either alone or with 1st Press Operator, in press, ink's press, and ensures feeder is loaded properly and then begins to run the press.
  • Continually checks quality and registration of work as directed to ensure that customer specs are met.
  • Completes necessary production and quality reports with 1st Press Operator as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager, Supervisor and/or Lead Person.

What you need to succeed:
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs intermittently and up to 75 lbs rarely.
  • Ability to work in a tobacco-free environment
  • Stand up to 12 hours per day.
  • Bend, twist, climb, squat, kneel occasionally throughout the shift.
  • Uses hands for simple and power grasping, as well as push, pull and fine manipulation.
  • Work at and/or below shoulder level.
  • See fine detail in printed product along with checking for color accuracy.
  • See color and distinguish color differences.
  • Previous offset printing press experience is required.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Communication skills
  • Must work in a hot, cold, dusty and noisy industrial environment
  • Must wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, hair nets, steel-toed boots, etc.)
  • Must maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations
