Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Play a supporting role on the Business Intelligence Collaborative team by building reports in Power BI to present analytics which are necessary for decision-making; analyzing daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly financial and operational transactions and preparing reports for BJU Press departments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use SQL and DAX to create Microsoft Power BI which produce reports supporting decision-making.
  • Provide quality assurance for other data analyst(s) report builds.
  • Run queries and present the results in a format easily understood by the requestor of the data by using charts and PowerPoint.
  • Use pivot tables and other methods of data manipulation within Excel to help with analyzing data.
  • Maintain Power BI reports by fixing issues as they arise, troubleshooting and solving problems.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to analyze data and communicate the results in reports
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, DAX and programming languages
  • Math/accounting skills with accuracy
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to use initiative and work collaboratively
