Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Industrial Electrician to join our manufacturing operations team in Brazil, Indiana. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electrical and control systems throughout our chemical manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate will possess strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills with experience supporting PLC-controlled equipment, HMI systems, industrial automation, and 480V power distribution systems. This position plays a critical role in supporting continuous plant operations, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe and reliable equipment performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on electrician who enjoys solving complex electrical and automation challenges in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Systems Maintenance & Repair

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair:

    • 480V electrical systems

    • 277V systems

    • 240V systems

    • 120V systems

  • Diagnose and repair:

    • Electric motors

    • Motor starters

    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)

    • Transformers

    • Circuit breakers

    • Electrical control panels

  • Read and interpret:

    • Electrical schematics

    • Single-line diagrams

    • Wiring diagrams

    • Panel layouts

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting using:

    • Multimeters

    • Meggers

    • Clamp meters

    • Other diagnostic equipment

PLC & Automation Support

  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled production equipment including:

    • Inputs/outputs

Plant Operations & Production Support

  • Support production and processing equipment including:

  • Support continuous plant operations during assigned shifts

  • Assist with equipment upgrades and process improvement initiatives

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on:

  • Identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions

  • Assist in improving equipment reliability and operational efficiency

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and verify zero-energy states

  • Ensure compliance with:

    • OSHA standards

    • NFPA 70E

    • NEC requirements

    • Site-specific safety procedures

  • Safely work in industrial and potentially hazardous environments

Required Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Technical or trade school education preferred

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification required

Experience

  • Experience in chemical manufacturing or process industries preferred
