The Role We Want You For

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for mission-critical facilities, including data centers, advanced manufacturing plants, and other high-reliability environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in power distribution, emergency systems, grounding, and redundancy strategies essential for 24/7 operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing electrical infrastructure that meets stringent uptime and efficiency requirements while coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced, design-build environment.


The Specifics of the Role

  • Lead the electrical design process for mission-critical projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
  • Develop power distribution, grounding, UPS, emergency power, and redundancy strategies for data centers and other high-availability environments.
  • Perform short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies to optimize electrical system reliability and safety.
  • Collaborate closely with architectural, mechanical, and structural teams to integrate electrical systems into overall project design.
  • Work with construction teams to ensure seamless execution, providing field support and resolving technical challenges.
  • Manage client relationships, presenting technical solutions and ensuring alignment with operational goals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards and best practices.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in the mission-critical industry, incorporating innovative solutions into projects.


Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET institution required.
  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with at least 3 years focused on mission-critical projects (data centers, high-tech manufacturing, etc.).
  • PE License is required to seal engineering documents, with the ability to attain licenses in multiple states.
  • Proficiency in power system design, redundancy planning, and energy efficiency strategies for high-reliability facilities.
  • Expertise in software tools such as SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, or EasyPower for power analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and other relevant codes and standards.
  • Experience working in a design-build or integrated project delivery (IPD) environment is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
