Job description

Participate in a cross-functional team environment responsible for development and support of core Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) business applications and processes. The Business Intelligence (BI) analyst / developer will architect, develop, and provide operational support skills to deliver and maintain business intelligence, data warehousing, reporting, and visualization solutions for a wide range of business functions and user communities. The BI analyst / developer will function as part of DFA's IT organization and follow relevant applications, infrastructure and governance processes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models and views to support enterprise BI, analytics, and reporting
  • Build Power BI-optimized semantic models, ensuring efficient refresh performance, query speed, and scalability
  • Develop and maintain calculated columns, measures, and KPIs using DAX
  • Translate business requirements into well-governed, reusable data models aligned with enterprise standards
  • Define and enforce data modeling standards, naming conventions, and BI best practices
  • Coordinate development, testing, and change management activities with business analysts and BI team members
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve model efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance usability

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience as a SQL developer/Data Warehouse/BI Developer
  • Strong skills with MS SQL Server and/or Snowflake

Recommended Qualifications:
Experience
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of Power BI
  • Knowledge of Snowflake
  • Familiarity with working in an Agile development environment
