A Power Automate job refers to an automated workflow or process created using Microsoft Power Automate. It enables users to connect apps, services, and data to streamline repetitive tasks, improve productivity, and reduce manual effort. These jobs can include actions like sending notifications, syncing files, collecting data, or automating approvals. Power Automate supports both cloud-based and desktop automation, allowing organizations to optimize workflows across various platforms.

Is Power Automate still a thing?

Power Automate is a Microsoft cloud-based service that enables users to create automated workflows between apps and services. It remains actively supported and widely used in roles involving process automation, integration, and workflow management, often requiring knowledge of connectors, data flows, and low-code development. The platform continues to evolve with new features and updates, making it relevant for automation professionals today.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Power Automate position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Power Automate professional, you need strong analytical skills, business process understanding, and proficiency in workflow automation, typically supported by experience with Microsoft Power Platform and a relevant IT or business degree. Familiarity with tools such as Power Automate, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, and certifications like Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals are highly beneficial. These abilities are crucial for designing efficient automated solutions that drive productivity and meet organizational goals.

Is Power Automate hard to learn?

Power Automate is designed to be accessible for users with basic technical skills, and many find it straightforward to learn due to its visual interface and pre-built templates. However, mastering advanced workflows and integrations may require some programming knowledge or experience with automation concepts. Overall, beginners can start creating simple automations quickly, while more complex tasks may take additional time to learn.

What are typical responsibilities for someone working in a Power Automate role?

Professionals in a Power Automate role are typically responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated workflows to optimize business processes. Utilizing your deep and expert knowledge in customer engagement processes (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, and Marketing), you understand client requirements through strong business and technical consulting skills and are well versed in optimizing Dynamics 365 CE implementations. • Design and implement D365 CE solutions to solve client requirements and challenges

  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance, demonstrations, and product education as required

  • Meet with clients to determine needs and/or identify problem areas

  • Support development of estimates, Statements of Work (SOWs), and proposals which outline professional services required to meet client requirements

  • Analyze complex requirements and develop IT strategies and multi-technology solutions leveraging Dynamics 365 CE and the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) aligned with industry best practices

  • Stay abreast of changes and opportunities as they pertain to Dynamics 365 CE and the Microsoft Power Platform

  • Focus on best practices for organizational change management and user adoption

  • Follow Agile best practices using Azure DevOps including contributing to the creation and grooming of a program backlog of features and tasks

  • Create relevant documentation including conceptual design, solution architecture, data models, integration designs, as-built diagrams, knowledge transfer materials, FAQs, and transition to operations information

What You Bring:
  • 5+ years of industry experience working in customer engagement domains such as sales, customer service, field service, or marketing (as a consultant or SME)

  • 5+ years of experience with Dynamics 365 CE (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, or Marketing) and/or legacy Dynamics CRM

  • Strong experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power BI)

  • 3+ years of experience with Agile frameworks

  • Proven skills or experience as a business analyst

  • Ability to effectively communicate to different audiences including internal and external stakeholders clearly and concisely

  • Proficiency in workshop facilitation, requirements gathering, and solution design

  • Self-motivation and drive, always looking for ways to improve skills and stay relevant in given area of expertise

What Makes You Extra Awesome:
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE certifications (e.g., Solution Architect Expert), Microsoft MVP, Prosci, Scrum

  • Experience with integrations (e.g., Azure Integration Services, APIs) and data migration strategies

  • Experience driving user adoption and CRM transformation initiatives

Why Work at Long View:
  • Great people and culture

  • Comprehensive benefits package from day one

  • Recognition programs

  • Career growth - Permanent staff positions, paid training, career life planning, and relocation and travel opportunities

$122,360 - $139,650 a year
