Job description

Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor - Powells Point, NC (Accepting New Graduates)

Schedule: Full-Time / Part-Time

Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Summary:

The Certified Drug & Alcohol Counselor delivers comprehensive substance use counseling services, including assessments, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, documentation, crisis intervention, and care coordination. This role supports both adult and adolescent clients in an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans

· Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices

· Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as needed

· Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure regulatory compliance

· Offer crisis intervention and supportive counseling when required

· Educate clients on addiction, relapse prevention, and coping skills

Requirement:

· High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Counseling, Psychology, or related field preferred

· Current, valid CDAC/CADC/LCAS/LCASA (or state-equivalent) certification

· All substance abuse experience will be considered a plus.

· Minimum of 1 year experience working with individuals with substance use disorders (required).
