Business at Davis is thriving! Sales are up, so we are actively seeking new team member to meet the continually growing demand in our powder coating department. This individual will be responsible for prepping parts for powder coating and doing anything else that may be needed.

Requirements

The Powder Coat Operator is responsible for applying powder coating to metal furniture components to achieve a durable and high-quality finish. This position operates powder coating equipment, monitors coating quality, and ensures production standards are met while maintaining safety and efficiency in the finishing process.

Duties and Responsibilities: 


Operate powder coating spray equipment to apply powder to metal furniture components.

Ensure proper coverage, thickness, and consistency of powder coating on all parts.

Monitor parts moving through the powder coat line to ensure quality standards are met.

Adjust spray settings, gun pressure, and powder flow as necessary to maintain proper coating application.

Inspect coated parts for defects such as thin coverage, runs, orange peel, or contamination.

Change powder colors and clean equipment when required to prevent contamination.

Maintain production flow by coordinating with prep, hanging, and unloading team members.

Monitor curing oven temperatures and line speeds to ensure proper curing of coated parts.

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of powder coating equipment and work areas.

Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities for Consideration as a Candidate:

Must be 18 years or older

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous powder coating, painting, or finishing experience preferred.

Basic understanding of spray equipment and finishing processes is beneficial.

Ability to follow work orders and production schedules.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
