Job description

Position Title: Powder Coat Applicator
Department: Production
Location: Sioux Falls, SD

About AGI
AGI Hi Roller manufactures a line of premier commercial enclosed, dust-tight and self-reloading conveyors, designed for installation in grain handling facilities, soy and corn processing operations and industrial operations. It specializes exclusively in the design and application of conveyors which will not only contain dust and spilled materials but will also automatically reload that material back on the carrying surface of the belt.
The Opportunity
The Powder Coat Applicator is responsible for applying powder coating finishes to metal components to meet quality, durability, and aesthetic standards. This role involves preparing surfaces, hanging and taking down components from continuous line, operating powder coating equipment, and ensuring proper curing of coated products. The Powder Coat Applicator works closely with production and quality teams to maintain efficiency and consistency while adhering to safety and environmental guidelines.
The Powder Coat Applicator must demonstrate attention to detail, strong hand-eye coordination, and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products meet customer specifications and company standards.
The Team
Our large production team consists of welders, assemblers, fabricators, powder coat applicators, and more. As a Powder Coat Applicator you will collaborate with your Production Supervisor and peers to produce top-quality finished parts for our grain conveyors.
Responsibilities
  • Follow company safety rules in accordance with OSHA regulations such as: wearing required PPE, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, and gloves.
  • Hang and take down components up to 55 pounds on overhead paint line.
  • Prepare parts for coating through cleaning, masking, and surface treatment processes.
  • Apply high-gloss protective coating using GEMA powder coating equipment.
  • Monitor coating thickness, coverage, and finish quality.
  • Operate and maintain curing ovens to ensure proper coating adhesion and durability.
  • Inspect finished products for defects and perform touch-ups as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling of materials.
