The company serves data centers, medical device manufacturers, automotive, gaming, and industrial customers that require high-quality, on-time, specification-driven work. With more than 70 team members, Pacific Powder Coating provides extensive capabilities, including batch powder coating with the largest curing oven in Northern California, two conveyorized lines with advanced pretreatment, metal graining and polishing, sandblasting, silkscreen printing, and in-house manufacturing and delivery. The team manages projects from raw steel through finish and assembly, engineering custom solutions for repeatable, production-scale runs. A strong focus on quality, documentation, and consistency has earned the trust of both Fortune 500 manufacturers and fast-growing local businesses.


Role Description The Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Sacramento, CA, responsible for managing key customer relatonships, providing excellent customer service, and quoting new opportunities. They will work closley with the President/CEO to execute company strategy and grow the business.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for existing customers — managing their accounts, keeping jobs on track, and coordinating between the customer and our production floor
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through in-person visits, phone calls, and email
  • Communicate customer requirements and requests to department heads and production staff to ensure a high level of service, and provide status updates to customers as needed
  • Prepare accurate, timely quotes for current and prospective customers, and follow up to win the work
  •  Review margins on recent work and identify opportunities to improve profitability on lower-margin jobs
  • Develop, update, and execute the sales plan; report on sales activity to the General Manager and President
  • Identify and pursue new customer opportunities through outside sales (roughly 20% of the role)
  • Lead, train, and support the customer service representatives


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or related post-graduate education
  • Experience in sales, account management, or customer service
  • Proficiency in excel, outlook, other Microsoft suite applications and knowledge of ERP systems like Job Boss
  • Organized, responsive, and detail-oriented
  • Able to read customer paperwork (POs, packing lists, prints) and communicate requirements to a production team
  • Manufacturing, coatings, metal fabrication, or a related industrial field preferred
  • Clear, professional communication in English
  • Valid California driver's license
