Awnings Above/SkyScape Architectural Canopies is a leading commercial awning and canopy manufacturer providing custom products for commercial construction projects, nationwide. As a result of our growing business, we need to hire an Industrial Powder Coating Technician who wants to join a team-oriented company. This individual will primarily be responsible for properly applying polymers to metal surfaces using conventional powder equipment.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

·       Ensure the proper cleaning of all raw materials to prepare for the powder coat processes

·       Maintain the equipment used for the washing process.

·       Maintain wash booth dirty water level to prevent leaking and over filling.

·       Operate simple hand tools such as drills and impacts.

·       Load powder carts in an efficient way for the powder processes

·       Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area – sweeping, handling, and disposing of scraps.

·       Organize parts based on priorities for the day.

·       Clean and maintain cleanliness of paint booth and oven areas.

·       Manage daily inventory of powder in stock

·       Ensure all parts for a specific job are together

·       Organize finished products area based on priorities and deliverables.

·       Additional shop duties as assigned

Background Requirements:

·       Able to work Monday through Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm

·       High school diploma or GED

·       1+ year of experience in a construction or manufacturing environment

·       Forklift operation experience

·       Ability to read fabrication drawings and shipping/receiving documents

·       Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

·       Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

·       Ability to lift 50+ pounds overhead

·       Ability to work in various warehouse conditions

Additional Information:

·       All candidates must be willing and able to pass a thorough background check and drug test

·       Hourly rate is $21-24/hr based upon experience and performance
