Job description

Description:

This position will be responsible for power washing and for unloading paint lines and labeling of manufactured products. The person in this position will be cross trained to be a backup in other areas as necessary and to support the requirements of the shipping area if support is needed. Proficiency in operating a forklift, understanding of scheduling systems and ability to follow written and verbal instructions are necessary.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

· Set up and operate machines to power wash and/or powder coat steel products

· Loads and unloads attachments and parts, moves items down the paint line

· Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards, and makes necessary adjustments

· Weigh or measure chemicals, coatings, or paints before adding them to machines

· Maintain pre-treatment equipment, spray booths, ovens and manual powder gun applicators

· Assist in loading and unloading the powered paint line.

· Apply stickers and label attachments.

· Get orders ready to be shipped.

· Performing electronic transactions necessary to ensure proper tracking of parts and inventory (ERP software, Build schedule etc…)

· Use of Forklift (both electric and gas powered) and hoists as required.

· Detect faulty operation of equipment and notify supervisors when necessary.

· Ensure all safety policies are followed, wear personal protective equipment.

· Participate in proper ergonomic practices as designed for this position.

· Maintain a clean and organized area/workstation.

· Work as a team-member to aid all shifts and support personnel in operations of departmental standards including quality and productivity goals.

· Responsible for informing lead(s) of any concerns that arise.

· Be cooperative, positive, and respectful with leads, coworkers and team.

· Assist in other areas as needed, other duties as assigned.

· Work overtime as needed.

· Regular and predictable attendance


Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent; basic math skills required.

· Mechanical experience.

· Forklift and hoist experience required.

· Ability to operate pneumatic and hand tools.

· Ability to read and follow instructions both written and verbal.

· Ability to read tape measurer to perform accurate measurements per specific print and drawing tolerances.

· Ability to pay close attention to details and maintain data integrity to a high degree.

· Good communication skills (verbal, listening, written).

· Ability to work independently and on a team.


Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.

· Frequent bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching required throughout the shift.

· Regular exposure to repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.

· Ability to stand for extended periods of time

· Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmet, ear plugs, and safety glasses.
