Indmar Marine Engines is looking for a punctual, dependable, quality-focused team player to join our Fabrication Department.

Position Summary: The Powder Coating Technician is expected to safely set-up and operate powder application equipment including powder guns, hoppers and powder booth exhausts while painting various shaped parts used in the production of marine engines. This position will also assist daily with machine operation, including sizer, bender and robotic welding. Previous experience with powder coating is desired, however, we do offer on-the-job training to help you succeed in this role.

This full-time position offers a starting rate of $18.00 - 21.00/hour depending upon experience with a consistent daytime schedule. Benefits include health insurance, paid holidays, paid time off and a retirement savings plan with a company match. Punctuality and good attendance are crucial to success in this position. Work hours are 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Thursday. Eligible for a $40.00 weekly attendance bonus. Candidate must have reliable transpiration and a valid driver's license.

Requirements:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all parts are properly painted and work instructions are followed.
  • Set up and safely operate all production equipment while maintaining set quality standards which meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Make needed adjustments to the painting process to ensure quality parts are produced at all times.
  • Maintain powder levels in the hoppers throughout the shift.
  • Clean powder booth and remove waste powder.
  • Maintain an exceptionally clean work area at all times.
  • Track powder usage for all production runs.
  • Follow the Respirator Protection Program to include wearing the respirator and other PPE properly, cleaning and maintaining filters according to the schedule.
  • Insert brass plugs with Durabond and tighten to recommended specifications.
  • Assist in the shop daily with operating of bender, sizer or robotic welding machines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an industrial painter.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to maintain high productivity with little supervision.
  • Great attention to detail with the desire to maintain exceptional quality of work.
  • Team player attitude with a willingness to assist in other areas when needed.
  • Good verbal communication skills.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Warehouse environment susceptible to extreme temperatures. Noise from nearby production machinery.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat, reach and perform repetitive hand and finger movements for most of the work shift. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Safety glasses; respirator; Must be clean shaven (No facial hair) to assure of proper seal on respirator; PAPR hood.
