Job Description Summary: The Poultry Production Manager is responsible for the overall success of daily farm operations. This position provides leadership and direction to the farm production teams to ensure the highest standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, safety, and product quality. The role requires coordination with multiple departments, including Farm Compliance, Maintenance, Safety, Human Resources, and Accounting, to achieve production goals and maintain regulatory and company compliance. Job Description: Applicants are not allowed to own any kind of birds due to the risk of possible disease transmission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide leadership, direction, and development to all production staff to achieve corporate and production objectives. Motivate employees to work effectively as a team in maintaining high operational standards and achieving production targets. Oversee all aspects of flock management, including feeding schedules, water availability, ventilation, and overall bird health and welfare. Maintain general cleanliness of layer houses, both interior and exterior, including proper mortality removal and disposal. Coordinate maintenance and repair of all production facilities, equipment, and ancillary machinery such as trucks, skid loaders, and tools. Implement and maintain an effective pest, rodent, and fly control program. Ensure quality standards are met for all products originating from the layer houses. Monitor flock well-being and performance, taking corrective actions as necessary to optimize results. Maintain required operational and compliance records accurately and in a timely manner. Coordinate bird placements with the pullet facilities and manage production schedules in accordance with customer demand and management forecasts. Ensure adherence to company biosecurity protocols and compliance with all regulatory and environmental requirements. Manage proper litter handling and disposal in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. Work collaboratively with supporting departments to ensure smooth operation of farm functions and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Biology, Operations Management, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience, preferably in poultry or agricultural production.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to coach and develop team members. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Detail-oriented, goal-driven, and accountable. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and continuous improvement.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by production needs.
