Job description

Packaging Specialist 
Location: Kent, WA
Shift: Monday–Friday, 9:30 pm-6:00 am 3rd shift
Pay Rate: $22.75 per hour
Summary:
Kelly Services is hiring a temporary Packaging Specialist who supports multiple positions within the production line, such as Slide Operator, Pouch Placer, Boxer, Bread Layer, and Bulk Packer. The role is responsible for various tasks to ensure efficient and high-quality packaging processes
Essential Functions:
  • Rotate through all assigned positions of the production line, performing tasks as required.
  • Accurately count products during the packaging process and stack them in layers within boxes.
  • Monitor the flow and quality of products on conveyor lines and remove, stack, or prepare products as needed.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the production process, including monitoring checkpoints such as the metal detector.
  • Ensure products meet food safety and quality standards; report safety or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Stack loaded boxes on pallets, operate taping machinery, cartoners, and incline conveyors as needed.
  • Stamp, label, or change pack codes on boxes and equipment according to production requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety, and food safety standards.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and work overtime as needed.
  • Perform other production duties as assigned.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Must have previous food & manufacturing experience.
  • Demonstrate adherence to plant work standards and a commitment to quality and productivity.
  • Maintain reliable and regular attendance.
  • Display a consistent commitment to teamwork and effective communication with peers and supervisors.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous performance and process improvement.
  • Follow all relevant health and safety regulations; must be free from foodborne pathogens.
