Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this job position is to be responsible for general kitchen sanitation, including the washing of pots and dishes, and, or kitchen equipment and surfaces, in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by management.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITY:
  • Set up dish machine following proper policy and procedure.
  • Document condition of machine.
  • Wash dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, and pans.
  • Maintain areas in a clean-as-you-go condition.
  • Check, empty and re-line trash cans as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining salad bar during meal service.
  • Keep the dish room clean, organized, and dry.
  • Return clean dishes and pots to proper storage areas with handles in same direction.
  • Sort silverware frequently.
  • Sweep and mop all floors in the kitchen, walk-ins, and storage areas.
  • Break down dish machine, clean and descale.
  • Promotes clean, safe, and neat environment for residents, self, and staff.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of fire safety procedures and assists with evacuation of residents to a safe location in the event of fire or another emergency.
  • Cooperates with staff of other departments in performing job duties.
  • Maintain accurate logs of dish machine temperature and sanitizer concentration throughout, or during each service period, as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Prior kitchen sanitation experience preferred.
  • Maricopa County Food Handlers Card

PHYSICAL DEMAND:
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 200 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing and walking continuously for an entire shift.
