Job description

Overview

At Leadership Circle, we are reimagining how leadership grows from one-time events to personalized, continuous, human-centered experiences.

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to help build and evolve our next-generation platform.

This role is focused on designing and delivering new platform capabilities using modern technologies including Next.js, NestJS, and Aurora PostgreSQL. You will work across the full stack, contributing to everything from frontend user experiences to backend services and data models.

As a senior engineer, you will play a key role in shaping implementation decisions, contributing to architectural discussions, and delivering scalable and reliable solutions in close collaboration with senior technical leadership.

A core expectation of this role is the active, consistent, and advanced use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code. Success in this role requires embracing AI as a fundamental part of how software is designed, built, and maintained, using it to accelerate development, improve code quality, and increase overall engineering effectiveness.

Responsibilities

· Design and deliver full stack features on the new platform using Next.js for the frontend, NestJS for the API layer, and Aurora PostgreSQL for the database

· Contribute to technical design and architecture discussions, helping shape solutions that balance scalability, maintainability, and delivery speed

· Build high-quality frontend experiences and backend services that are reliable, maintainable, and performant

· Develop and evolve APIs and service boundaries to support a modular and scalable platform

· Work with PostgreSQL to design schemas, write efficient queries, and optimize performance

· Leverage AWS services such as S3, Lambda, and SQS to support scalable and event-driven systems

· Implement secure authentication and authorization flows using Auth0 and OAuth standards

· Follow and contribute to engineering best practices including testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure system design

· Actively use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code as a core part of daily engineering work including code generation, refactoring, debugging, and system comprehension

· Continuously improve how AI tools are used within the team to increase development speed, reduce friction, and improve overall engineering effectiveness

· Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and engineering peers to deliver customer value iteratively

· Mentor other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and sharing best practices

· Foster a collaborative team environment by communicating proactively, sharing context, asking questions openly, and contributing to thoughtful technical discussions

Requirements

· 7 or more years of software engineering experience with significant full stack development responsibilities

· Experience operating at a senior level with strong implementation skills and contributions to system design

· Strong experience with modern web technologies including TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js

· Experience building backend services using frameworks such as NestJS or similar Node.js frameworks

· Deep experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases

· Strong understanding of API design and scalable application patterns

· Experience working with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, SQS, and RDS or Aurora

· Ability to work effectively in environments with evolving requirements and shared technical ownership

· Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset with a willingness to ask questions, share context, and collaborate to find the best solutions

· Comfort giving and receiving feedback in code reviews and technical discussions

· Demonstrated experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT as a core part of the development workflow

· Strong ability to evaluate, validate, and improve AI-generated outputs to ensure production-quality code

· Mindset that embraces AI as a force multiplier for engineering productivity and continuous learning

Bonus

· Experience contributing to platform or system design in a collaborative environment

· Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation

· Experience building AI-powered features such as LLM integrations, RAG systems, or intelligent workflows

· Experience helping teams adopt and improve AI-assisted development practices
