Job Description
The Director of Shelter Medicine Postgraduate Programs is a full-time faculty position responsible for leading, developing, and overseeing advanced training programs in shelter medicine, including internships, residencies, and specialty board preparation. Faculty in this role are expected to foster postgraduate student learning, participate in research or scholarly activity, and engage in service to the profession and community. The Director will provide specialized training, coordinate program operations, foster research and scholarship, and promote best practices in shelter medicine while upholding the mission of Lincoln Memorial University and the College of Veterinary Medicine at Orange Park (OPCVM).
Required Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida.
  • Specialty board certification (ABVP-Shelter Medicine or other specialty approved by ABVP for advising residents)
  • Documented experience in shelter medicine clinical practice.
  • Experience mentoring or teaching veterinary students, interns, or residents.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MS, MPH, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Experience in program leadership or administration in academic or clinical settings.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity, including publications or presentations in shelter medicine.

Develop and deliver advanced curriculum and clinical training programs in shelter medicine for interns, residents, and postgraduate trainees.
