Customer Support Specialist
ADM Animal Nutrition
Des Moines, IA or Decatur, IL or Quincy, IL
Reporting to the NA Supply Chain Manager the Customer Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting end-to-end supply chain operations in a variety of functions in order to bring value to the company. This position will coordinate efforts with Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Logistics to provide an industry leading customer experience overseeing the order fulfillment process from entry to delivery.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer relationship management
  • Serve as primary point of contact for assigned customers
  • Answer customer inquiries via email and phone
  • Manage customer complaint communications, returns, credits, and certificate requests
Order Management
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently within ERP
  • Provide timely order confirmation and shipment status updates to customers
  • Proactively identify and resolve order issues, track shipments, and expedite orders, as needed
  • Execute the receiving and invoicing of direct shipment orders
  • Maintain accurate customer records, order documentation, and system data for compliance
Cross functional collaboration and business support
  • Generate and analyze order-related reports to identify trends, improve service levels, and support business objectives.
  • Serve as a key liaison to the Sales team to support salesforce functions and provide customer data and analysis
  • Actively support continuous improvement efforts focused on increasing On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance.
CRITICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Superior verbal and written communications, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritized work load.
  • Extensive keyboard and telephone use, sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Strong computer skills, preferably with Microsoft Office applications and ERPs such as Oracle
  • Willingness to learn, help others, and flexibility to adapt to change.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
  • Two or more years of experience in Customer Service and/or Sales Support.
  • ERP user experience. (Oracle, SAP, etc...)

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
