Position Summary
The laboratory of Dr. Wonho Kim in the Department of Genetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our young research team. Our lab explores the fundamental mechanisms that govern genome organization and functions. Specific areas of focus include:
1. Mechanisms by which the genome is folded within the nucleus.
2. Identification of nuclear factors that regulate genome folding and elucidation of their mechanisms.
3. Impact of genome folding on gene transcription.
4. Contributions of dysregulated genome folding to human disease.
To address these questions, we use a combination of genomics (ChIP-seq, Hi-C), oligo-FISH, biochemical methods and genetic screening. For more information, please visit our lab websites: https://sites.google.com/view/wonhokimlab/home.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

A Ph.D. degree in Biology, Biomedical sciences or a related field
Strong motivation and ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prior experience in genomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, or cell culture
