Precom Logistics Coordinator
  • Pascagoula, MS
  • Posted Salary Range USD $19.47 - USD $30.40 /Hr.

Logistics coordinators are responsible for overseeing the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies to assist Navy sailors assigned to ships under construction. ย They utilize their expertise in supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics to ensure the availability and efficient use of materials while minimizing costs and maximizing productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Navy crews with the initial set of supplies at the Pre-Commissioning Unit (PCU) building
  • Manage a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) for logistics activities
  • Assist with government print requests
  • Support crew move aboard items and coordination
  • Manage the ships' initial COSAL (Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List) loadout
  • Assist with mail delivery from the US Postal Service and other postal delivery services
  • Support up to four ships' crews simultaneously with their logistics needs
  • Assist with planning for major milestones throughout the shipbuilding process
  • Address any other logistics needs that a Navy crew may encounter as part of the shipbuilding process

Responsibilities and individual tasks are generally non-complex, routine in nature, and require minimal problem solving. You are expected to ask clarifying questions, refer more complex issues to higher levels and follow direction and guidance from others.
