En tant que concepteur audio senior chez Side Montreal, vos responsabilites seront de creer, developper, produire et integrer l'environnement sonore des jeux video et d'autres medias visuels, et peuvent inclure la direction de projets et le mentorat des membres de l'equipe.

Vous jouerez un role cle dans la concretisation de la vision creative, en travaillant en collaboration avec le personnel audio et l'equipe de conception du jeu.

Fonctions et principales responsabilites:

  • Concevoir et editer des ressources sonores de qualite superieure pour les jeux video, les bandes-annonces et autres medias visuels, dans le respect du style et de la direction creative du projet.
  • Concevoir des systemes, grace a une comprehension approfondie des middlewares et des moteurs de jeux, permettant des hierarchies de mixage dynamiques et des systemes audio dans des environnements stereo et surround, en collaboration avec les equipes de conception de jeux.
  • Diriger des projets en planification, organiser du contenu lie a la conception sonore, travailler en etroite collaboration avec le directeur de creation et les gestionnaires de projets.
  • Integration d'assets sonores dans des middlewares audio (Wwise, FMOD) et des moteurs de jeux (Unreal, Unity, moteurs de jeux personnalises).
  • Synchronisation et mixage audio sur des supports lineaires.
  • Tester, trouver et corriger les bogues lies a l'audio.
  • Comprendre les scripts de base en ce qui concerne l'audio du jeu et l'amelioration du flux de travail.

  • Connaissances avancees en creation sonore et grande maitrise de l'utilisation d'un DAW (Reaper ou Pro Tools), en synchronisation avec du materiel visuel.
  • Capable de demontrer une bonne comprehension du pipeline audio en travaillant avec un middleware et capable d'executer des taches d'integration avancees dans au moins un moteur de jeu (UE5 de preference).
  • Maitrise de l'utilisation de tableurs et d'outils de collaboration, tels que Confluence, Jira et Trello.
  • Maitrise de l'utilisation des controles de source (Git, SVN, Perforce).
  • Solides competences en communication.

Purpose of Job:

As a Senior Sound Designer at Side Montreal, your responsibilities will be crafting, developing, producing and integrating the sound environment for video games and other visual media and may include leading projects and mentoring team members.

You will lead in sound and display your passion for video games which will enable you to build captivating soundscapes, providing players and spectators with an immersive experience. You will play a key role in bringing the creative vision to life, working in collaboration with audio staff and the game design team.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and editing top quality sound assets for use in video games, trailers and other visual media, in respect to the project's style and creative direction.
  • Designing systems, through a deep understanding of middleware and game engines, allowing for dynamic mixing hierarchies and audio systems in both stereo and surround environments, in collaboration with the game design teams.
  • Leading projects in planning, organizing sound design-related content, working closely with the creative director and project managers.
  • Integrating sound assets in audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD) and game engines (Unreal, Unity, custom game engines).
  • Syncing and mixing audio to linear media.
  • Testing, finding and fixing audio related bugs.
  • Understanding basic scripting as it pertains to game audio and workflow improvement.
  • Working collaboratively, attend meetings with the team and external partners.
  • Contributing to documentation, project tracking and procedures.

Senior responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members.
  • Offer regular feedback and support professional development by monitoring and evaluating performance.

  • Advanced knowledge in sound creation and highly proficient in using a DAW (Reaper or Pro Tools), in sync with visual material.
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the audio pipeline working with middleware and can execute advanced integration tasks in at least one game engine (UE5 preferably).
  • Proficiency working with spreadsheets and collaboration tools, such as Confluence, Jira and Trello).
  • Proficiency working with source controls (Git, SVN, Perforce).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in supporting, and mentoring team members.
