Job description

Pay up to - $34/hr. based on experience and qualifications

The Production Supervisor is a critical role in the success of our operation. The incumbent will be responsible for managing a team of manufacturing associates to produce high-quality products that meet or exceed run rates while maintaining a safe facility. This Supervisor will spend the majority of their time on the production floor providing guidance and decision making to achieve maximum output, low waste, minimal rejects in a consistently efficient operation. Responsibilities also include training a team of direct reports, holding team accountable for performing consistently and in a safe manner, collaborating closely with Quality Assurance, Vendor Assurance and Maintenance to meet all of the standards as well as interact with USDA as needed.

Please note this is a 2nd Shift opportunity with the hours of 5:00pm - 5:00am based in our Norwood, MA manufacturing facility.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and execute daily production schedules, ensuring efficient use of labor and resources
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees while managing staffing, attendance, and performance
  • Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards and product specifications are met
  • Maintain proper raw material levels and accurate production reporting
  • Identify and address safety concerns; ensure compliance with OSHA, HACCP, USDA, and plant standards
  • Train team members and support ongoing skill development and cross-training
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve workflows
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance
  • Maintain shift logs, training records, and operational data
  • Oversee plant sanitation activities, ensuring compliance with standards and supporting sanitation schedules (including weekends/non-production days as needed)
  • Supervise post-sanitation startup to ensure safety, quality, and operational readiness

What You'll Bring

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing (food production strongly preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with production processes, quality standards, and safety compliance
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift/pallet jack)
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) a plus

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Regular presence in production areas, including cold, wet, humid, and noisy environments.
  • Ability to walk production floors, climb ladders and stairs, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear
  • Off-shift and weekend work may be required to support breakdowns, shutdowns, or project execution.
  • Strict adherence to safety, PPE, and hygiene standards is required.
