General Manager

Select-Service Hotel | Hagerstown, Maryland


We are seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead a select-service hotel in the Maryland market. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a property entering a new phase of growth and repositioning, with a strong focus on operational excellence, team leadership, and guest experience.


The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded hotel operator who is comfortable leading day-to-day operations while also driving performance, accountability, and culture across the property.


Position Overview

The General Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the hotel, including operations, financial results, guest satisfaction, and team development. This role requires a proactive leader who can guide a team through change, implement brand standards, and elevate the property’s positioning in the market.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and maintenance
  • Drive financial performance, including revenue growth, cost control, and profitability
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to build a strong service-driven culture
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences and maintain high satisfaction scores
  • Implement and maintain brand standards and operational procedures
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and reporting to ownership
  • Oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Partner with sales efforts to maximize occupancy and market share
  • Lead property through operational transitions, improvements, or repositioning initiatives


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience in a hotel environment
  • Strong background in select-service or limited-service hotel operations
  • Proven ability to drive financial results and manage P&L performance
  • Hands-on leadership style with a focus on team engagement and accountability
  • Experience navigating property improvements, transitions, or brand standards is a plus
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and lead in a dynamic environment


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $75,000 – $80,000
  • Bonus: Performance-based bonus tied to property performance, including profitability and operational benchmarks, offering meaningful upside aligned with results (approximately 2% of net operating income)
  • Full benefits package
