We are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy IT Intern to assist with the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting ofPoint-of-Sale (POS) systems used at the Concession Stands during home Virginia Tech sporting events. This role isideal for students pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field who arelooking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment

COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this position is $16.00 to $16.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer.  This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

Assist with installation, configuration, and testing of POS hardware and software at concession stands.
Provide first-level technical support to concession stand staff during events.
Monitor POS systems during operations and respond quickly to hardware or software issues.
Perform routine maintenance and updates on POS terminals, printers, and network connections.
Assist with inventory and documentation of all POS equipment.
Work closely with IT team to escalate and resolve complex issues.
Help train end users on basic POS functionality and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking, and operating systems.
Familiarity with POS systems is a plus, but not required.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during events.
Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift and move POS equipment (up to 30 lbs).
Comfortable working in a stadium, arena, or outdoor venue environment.
