Job Summary:
Restaurant cashier's main duties and responsibilities is to assist customers in the in-store checkout process which includes greeting customers as they enter the restaurant, ringing up orders on point of sale (POS) system, collecting payment, and giving appropriate change.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer customer questions.
  • Greet customers
  • Process sales transactions on POS system
  • Collect payment whether in cash or credit
  • Calculate and return change when required by the payment method
  • Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change
  • Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts at end of shift
  • Report issues and customer complaints to managers
  • Maintain clean and tidy work area
  • Restock beverage and dessert coolers
  • Assist other restaurant staff as needed.

Requirements
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Prior experience as a Cashier or in a similar role preferred but not required
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
