Job Description:
Summary:
The Manager, Gift Shop has the primary responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day operation of assigned Gift Shop, which includes Ballad Health's strategies, policies, procedures, and processes consistent with the Volunteer/Auxiliary Gift Shop expectations and Ballad's mission and strategic objectives as established. The manager is to assist the Retail Director to maximize GPO contracts, purchasing opportunities, and develop negotiated contracts to increase income in this area.
The manager is responsible for the procurement and maintenance of appropriate merchandise for gift shop where necessary. Will oversee the daily tasks, such as opening/closing of POS system, including reconciling cash drawer, making deposits, and keeping the necessary change to operate. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for scheduling volunteers, as well as training volunteers in the gift shop. Keeping the gift shop stocked, including ordering merchandise and appropriate entry into POS system. Manager will work to schedule Auxiliary fundraising sales and taking care of the payroll deduct functions. Will travel as needed and will complete other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Associates degree required. Minimum five years experience in retail management. In lieu of degree, candidates with an additional 2 years of retail experience may be considered. Candidate must be motivated, with high personal integrity. Positive attitude, as well as, excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills to manage different priorities.
The successful candidate must have the ability to deal with all levels of an organization and have excellent communication and customer services skills. Demonstrate skills in developing strong business relationships. Participated in the creation of high functioning interdependent partnerships. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Computer skills. Ability to organize workload and work independently. Strong sense of teamwork and ability to apply principles of team building. Demonstrated decision making/problem solving skills. Strong negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and deal with short time frames.
