Position: Cashier

Job Overview
The Cashier / Retail Team Member is responsible for delivering friendly, accurate, and efficient guest service while operating the point-of-sale system and maintaining a clean, welcoming shop environment. This role supports guest satisfaction by ensuring order accuracy, product knowledge, upselling, and adherence to Krispy Kreme brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Sales
  • Greet guests promptly and courteously according to Krispy Kreme standards.
  • Take guest orders accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
  • Accept payment, process transactions correctly, and provide accurate change.
  • Answer guest questions regarding products, pricing, and promotions.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and upselling to promote featured items and increase sales.
  • Assist guests with carrying large or multiple-item orders.
  • Conduct shop tours when requested or assigned.

Product Knowledge & Brand Support
  • Maintain knowledge of Krispy Kreme history, products, and current promotions.
  • Inspect products for quality and freshness prior to sale.
  • Ensure retail display cases are stocked, organized, and visually appealing.

Shop Operations & Communication
  • Answer the telephone in a timely manner using Krispy Kreme greeting procedures.
  • Utilize maintenance, cash handling, and cleaning logs as required.
  • Communicate guest concerns, product needs, or operational issues to leadership.
  • Support shop operations during peak periods as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Cleaning & Sanitation
  • Maintain cleanliness of front counter, service areas, and retail displays.
  • Clean and sanitize counters, POS areas, menus, and guest-contact surfaces.
  • Sweep and mop floors and remove trash.
  • Clean restrooms and exterior areas as assigned.
  • Perform any other cleaning or side work tasks assigned by management.

  • Standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and grasping.
  • Writing, filing documents, and working with POS systems.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects.
  • Communicating with shop team members, guests, and management.
  • Use of POS systems and other shop technology, as permitted by applicable state age requirements.

Physical Requirements
  • Standing and walking for extended periods during the work shift.

Work Environment
  • Work performed primarily in guest service and retail areas of the shop.
  • Exposure to heat, noise, wet or slippery surfaces, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Fast-paced environment with variable schedules, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
